Newly completed "Double Vision Breathe" vase. I bought the curly maple from your store a couple of months ago. This new vase is made of curly maple and African mahogany and stands just shy of 11" tall x 6" wide. When the vase is slowly turned, it has the appearance of "breathing". If you study VERY closely, you can see that there is a subtle "heart beat" as well. I love incorporating subtleties in my vase design. This is the third in my Double Vision series, but the only one that breathes. See more at www.vaseturner.com. Also attached is a gif file demonstrating the "breathing effect" IF this media accepts a gif file. If it does not come through in a moving file, please contact me and I can make arrangements to send it to you another way.
This is a poker table made from red oak that was purchased at your Buffalo location, and was built over last winter. The plans for the table were obtained online from the New Yankee Workshop. This project was challenging due to the number of angles in the table top. I'm very happy with the way it turned out, and the quality of the material I was able to find at your store.

The Club needed a great looking towel cabinet for our members and guest at our main pool, this is the end product. With a combination of Ipe and Garapa wood I was able to construct a beautiful piece of furniture for the club. The interior is constructed with Ipe strips to hold King Starboard black in color so the towels won't snag or discolor on the wood. The build was in three pieces, the base that holds three drop areas with the Garapa frames and Ipe insert door complete with out "flying G" logo, the middle towel holding area, and the mostly Garapa roof. It was a fun project and i don't think a hurricane with blow it away.
This is a small box I just finished using the heart persimmon I discovered at Advantage Lumber. The hinges stop the lid open at 90°.
This project was a mothers day gift, which is a replica of the prehistoric King cobra butterfly no longer in existence. The keepsake box was made from poplar and was lined with green flocking to hold the most cherished items. The Intarsia lid is in four sections consisting of walnut for the body and for the wings a combination of purple heart, ash, western red cedar and aromatic red cedar. A pattern was used for the intarsia and was cut out using the scroll saw and oscillating sander, wings were cut individually and glued back together after shaping. And yes, Mom was pleased.
I started using Advantage Lumber years ago when I received great advice and information from Wes about edge glued panels. Using Edge Glued panels allowed me to focus on making our products without needing to invest heavily in all the machines required to make panels. I've found panels from Advantage to be very stable with very few splits, checks, or imperfections. My company, Freeform Woodworks, manufactures wooden iPad stands for Point-Of-Sale and kiosk displays. For our custom orders we use only Advantage Lumber Edge Glued Panels. We've used a number of different wood types including Zebrawood, Cherry, Ambrosia Maple, Hard Maple, and Walnut - they're all amazing. In the stand shown above, you can see how one long panel is cut on the CNC and "bookmatched" to fully enclose the iPad, card reader (the black "D" shaped device). We add carbon fiber ribs to increase the strength of the panels, but that is only because in the middle they are less than .25" thick. Additionally, it adds a nice card swipe track to guide the credit cards through the card reader. Customers all over the world are using our stands and the feedback is universally positive. Buying panels from Advantage Lumber has allowed us to focus on what we love instead of gluing up panels.
