MECHANICAL PROPERTIES Medium strength properties in all categories. Good steam bending characteristics.
WORKING PROPERTIES Works easily with hand and power tools. Slight blunting effect on cutters. Nails and screws well. Glues, stains and polishes to a good finish.
DURABILITY Moderately durable. Heartwood is resistant to preservative treatment. Sapwood is permeable.
SEASONING Dries easily without much degradation. Medium movement.
USES Cabinets, furniture, boat decking, light construction, veneers, and paneling.
COMMENTS Attractive ray flecked figure on quarter sawn wood.
